The Lagotto Romagnolo is a breed with deep historic roots. The breed’s roots are thought to go back to at least 1474 A.D. By the 1970s, there were only very few Lagottos remaining. Luckily there were a couple Lagotto enthusiasts who brought the breed back from the brink of extinction. Lagotto Romagnolos have wonderful dispositions. They are extremely personable, loyal, and loving. They are medium sized dogs, with males typically weighing between 28-35 pounds and females typically weighing 24-31 pounds. Lagottos are also exceptionally intelligent and thrive on human interaction and developing a human-animal bond. They are an exceedingly rewarding breed to love. If you just give them your attention, you will have a friend for life.
