Spanish Water Dogs

Spanish Water Dogs (SWDs) are extremely loyal to those they deem a part of the family. Originally they were used as sheepdogs/guard dogs, then eventually became used as gun dogs. They are also extremely proficient retrievers from the water. The versatility this dog has makes it a good choice for any family, as they are highly intelligent and trainable. Females will grow to be around 35 pounds, and males will be in the 45 pound range. These guys are fine with playing a nice game of fetch or going on a hike, then laying on the couch with you for the ensuing hours; as long as they are with their family, they are content!
